Playing with my Hands

Dopamine Hobbies was born from trauma and rebuilt on hope.

This is a space for quiet crafts, messy healing, and small acts of grounding. You don’t have to be good at it…you just have to feel something again. In fact, I am not good at it, but that just makes it more fun.

If you’re here because you’re burnt out, or because life has gotten a little overwhelming, you’re in the right place.

I started Dopamine Hobbies because I’m fascinated by the things we do simply because they make life more interesting.

Growing something from seed is one of my greatest joys in life. Learning to paint badly before you learn to paint well is literally how life works. Collecting pretty rocks, baking bread (yes, that sourdough craze got me good), pressing flowers you found in Bulgaria, building tiny things because they’re cute, wandering through antique stores, or trying a craft you haven’t touched since elementary school. None of it has to become a business, a side hustle, or another thing you’re supposed to be good at. You don’t need to make content out of these.

Hobbies challenge your brain or get you outside. My favorite give your hands something to do while your thoughts settle down…and some are just ridiculously fun.

This is where I explore them — the science behind why hobbies feel good, strange ones you may have never considered, and ideas for finding something new to become completely obsessed with for a while.

Find something that makes you want to lose track of time.
